An opportunity for carers to take time out and enjoy quality live entertainment and creative arts experiences....
Telford & Wrekin Council recognises the importance of the diverse contribution made by Carers in providing personalised support, and acknowledges the opportunity for Carers to be recognised and supported as a valued member of the Telford & Wrekin Community. Caring day in and day out can be rewarding and fulfilling but it can also be emotionally and physically draining without a break.
We acknowledge Carers are committed to their caring role. With this in mind the Council have made carers a key priority and are keen to promote the opportunity for Carers to access a range of leisure and creative art opportunities for those Carers who are registered with Telford & Wrekin Council. This new initiative encourages Carers to take ‘Me time’ which in turn promotes the Council’s commitment and belief in supporting family carers to have a right to a life outside their caring role.
Oakengates Theatre @ the place and the Council’s Creative Arts Team are delighted to be able to take part in this initiative by offering some quality ‘Me Time’ experiences.
The Arts Team and the Place have been awarded funding to assist carers to access cultural actives and events at the theatre. A special carers’ membership scheme has been designed to offer carers half price tickets to shows and events at the theatre. The place offers a diverse range of live entertainment from comedy to drama, music to pantomime. With special interest evenings, dance night events and children’s shows there is something for all to enjoy.
Carers will be required to complete an application form to take part in the scheme and, once registered, tickets will need to be booked direct with the Box Office on 01952 382382.
It’s simple and easy to register. Download the application form below and return to: The Place, Theatre Square, Limes Walk, Oakengates Telford TF2 6EP
Each carer will be entitled to a special offer of half price tickets to all of our events and shows, to a maximum of two tickets per registered carer for each show. The Carers’ offer will not be available on line and will be subject to funding. The Place cannot provide unlimited access to its shows and events and therefore the allocation of places will be determined by the capacity for each event and provided on a first come first served basis.
